Technical Art Director / Lead Technical Artist
(This position is with our Austin incubation team)
We’re looking for a very senior generalist who loves diving into new technologies. Procedural content creation is a focus for us. We’re slowly growing our small internal team where we build new IP, evaluate existing titles and explore content-related aspects of potential future projects.
You’ll be working with a small, seasoned group of hands-on game developers working on interesting creative and technical challenges. If you’re an experienced technical artist who likes jumping into the deep end of the pool, we’d like to meet you.
Tools we use:
Unity, UE4
Modo / Max / Maya (multi-package user preferred)
Procedural technologies, such as Houdini, Substance, Esri, photogrammetry
Automation technologies, such as Simplygon
Scripting: VEX, C#, Python, JavaScript
Immediate needs:
Character and vehicle rigging and setup
Gameplay-related setup and tuning
Unity integration
Technical due diligence
Perf Optimization
VR R&D
You have:
Impeccable sensitivity for quality
Ability to thrive in the presence of incomplete information
7+ years AAA development in a technical art role
Shipped 2+ AAA titles as a technical artist
Experience working in multiple game engines
Big pluses for candidates with experience in:
Simulation-driven visual effects
VR development
Game credit for real-time lighting
Setting up PBR, Color Grading, Tone-mapping for a product
