Anyone know how i can get my hands on the ue 3.5 toolkit?

I just finished a project and have some room to breath over here, so I want to take advantage of it and eval the vfx tool and feature set in the latest unreal engine.

I’m downloading 3.0 off of the ps3 devnet, but does anyone know if there’s a way to eval 3.5? I recall 3.0 had a powerful feature set, but not the greatest authoring tools - i’m curious how that might have changed in the new version.

(and yes - I’m looking into getting an eval directly from epic as well - just lazy and will buy a copy of some pc game if it ships with the 3.5 mod tools)

Never heard of Ue3.5, but Mirrors Edge would probably be the latest Unreal game that you can buy. It ships with a hidden Unreal Editor.

Second best bet is Shadow Complex, that’ll be on PC soon.

Not that much has changed in their VFX(Cascade) tool since their release of UT3.

Thanks whooosh! That mirrors edge nugget sounds perfect, but it’s also good to know the vfx tool hasn’t radically changed since the last time I checked it out.

Epic decided to make their engine free…so head over to www.UDK.com and download it.

It includes their latest and greatest integration.
Some notable things that are new since UT3:
Lightmass - GI solution
Softbody dynamics
Cloth Simulations
Content Browser
Custom Node in Material - You can type in your own HLSL code directly.
Anisotropic Shading
Lit translucency on dynamics and static objects
Crowds
