Anyone care to speculate (or have insight into) the fate of the Fabric Engine?

The official homepage of the Fabric Engine features the following notice:

Thank you for your interest in Fabric Engine. Please note that we are no longer developing our software platform and tools.

An acquisition by Autodesk or something of this nature seems likely to me, but this is pure speculation on my part…

those poor guys - many of them were part of XSI. To be aquired by ADSK twice in one lifetime is too much for any man.
