Animal Logic: Production Systems Team Lead – Animated Features & VFX - Sydney

We are currently looking for an experienced Team Lead to work in our newly established global R&D department, on the production systems team.

The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work with a variety of Java based technologies and be responsible for overseeing the design and development of complex systems, which help run our animation studios.

You will be liaising directly with the films production managers, to define objectives and scope and help set the technical direction of our global production systems, as well as providing hands on leadership and mentorship of a team of developers across sites.

To be successful in this role you must have:

[li] At least 6 years Java development experience
[/li][li] Previous technical leadership experience
[/li][li] Proven experience mentoring developers
[/li][li] Demonstrated experience working with internal or external clients
[/li][li] Previous experience gathering and documenting requirements
[/li][li] Track record of developing robust and scalable systems
[/li][li] Strong communication and interpersonal skills
[/li][li] Good planning and estimating abilities
[/li][li]
[/li][/ul]

Experience with the following would be highly regarded:

[li] Java technologies - Spring, JMS, GWT
[/li][li] Experience building and maintaining web services
[/li][li] Deep knowledge of web application architecture and infrastructure
[/li][li] Web development technologies, such as HTML, JavaScript, PyQT
[/li][li] Multi-site architectures
[/li][li] AKKA and the Actor Model
[/li][li] Agile development practices – TDD, continuous integration, automation
[/li][li]
