3Ds Max Morph Target Baking

Hi,

I’ve been racking my brain trying to figure out how to bake morph targets to my character so I can collapse the morph modifier in the stack.

How do I do this? Is it even possible?

The reason for doing this is that I want to scale my character and rig (rigged with CAT) using the ‘Rig Resizer’ but it won’t work with the morph modifier applied to the character.

If the morph can’t be collapsed is there any way to scale my character and CAT rig?

Any help would be very much appreciated.

Thanks

Joe

I dont see any way collapsing the stack would maintain your morphs. However if you’re doing a uniform scale, you could scale your morph targets also and re-create your morph modifier once you have re-scaled.

Yeah I tried uniform scaling the morph targets and reapplying them to my main mesh, but it didn’t seem to work. When I applied the morph to the mesh and put the value up, it scaled the main mesh

Don’t understand why it would do that…

What you could try doing is scaling in a modifier and copy and paste it across to all the morph targets. An Xform modifier should do this or something like an edit poly modifier. I’ve done something like this latter to make changes to a character that had already been set up with loads of morph targets. I did the changes to proportion and details in an edit poly modifier on the base head, then just copied and pasted it across to all the morph targets.
