We’re looking for a fine gent or lady to join The Odd Gentlemen team in Los Angeles. Our ideal gentleperson has experience modeling and texturing very stylized characters and worlds. A strong understanding of form, structure, light, efficiency, and a willingness to learn is absolutely essential. Must have a strong command of industry standard tools: Maya, Photoshop, etc. You will work closely with a small team who are passionate about creating fantastical games.

Title: 3D Artist
The 3D Artist will join our team on a next-generation console project. This game will be created in Unreal and will be story-focused.
Responsibilities:
Use concept images to create high quality character and prop models with efficient polycounts, UV layouts, textures, and shaders.
Develop modular and tileable assets for flexible level creation.
Collaborate with designers and engineers to maximize gameplay quality and runtime efficiency.
Make assets with an eye toward maintaining The Odd Gentlemen’s brand for artistic style.
Regard and contribute improvements to the asset creation pipeline, including workflow streamlining, optimization, file management, etc.
Requirements
A minimum of 3 years related experience in game development modeling and texturing characters (or equivalent).
Have shipped console titles as a 3D Artist
Strong foundation and understanding of light, color, shading, and style
Thorough understanding of the technical limitations and optimization of game art assets for various platforms.
A passion for story-driven games and fantastical worlds and characters
Experienced in Unreal or related game engine
Proficient in Maya, ZBrush, and Photoshop
Willingness to accept and give critiques, adapt, evolve, and teach as new challenges to game production arise.
Motivated to self-manage and actively seek answers, conduct research, and explore creative solutions.
Highly imaginative, enthusiastic, and timely.
