2K Marin - VFX Artist

We’re looking for a sorcerer to wield elemental powers: explode with fire, rain down from the heavens, spew blood and ooze toxic vapors. As an FX Artist on Xcom, you will be responsible for creating a kaleidoscopic collage of FX that will add texture, vitality and spark to the dystopia of our game world. You will collaborate with animators, environment artists, designers and programmers to bring about a complex symphony of the subtle and the sublime. You will pre-visualize FX, draw textures, animate and implement systems inside the Unreal Editor and other proprietary tools. And, yes, you will get to blow stuff up.

Hey all – Just wanted to add some details to this job posting. We’re looking for a veteran who can jump right in and produce some compelling rigid body (RayFire and MassFX) and deformation animation in Max, and who is also very comfortable in Unreal. 2K Marin is a growing studio, unusually stable, and a great place to work with a 4 strong Vfx/Tech Art team (you’d be the fifth) and exceptional tools/code support. We’re rolling into the final stage of XCOM development which is shaping up extremely well and getting ready to launch 2 new projects – both for next gen consoles including a new IP.
